Hansika, who was set to make an announcement on her 50th film on her birthday on Thursday (August 9), has postponed it following the demise of DMK president M Karunanidhi.
“As mark of respect to our beloved leader #kalaignar karunanidhi ji . We will be rescheduling the announcement of the title,” she said in a social media post.
The Mappillai and Romeo Juliet actress added: “Date and time will be announced soon . Thank u for your patience #hansika50th.”
In her condolence message, she said, “With profound grief I have learnt about the loss of our beloved Kalaignar Dr M Karunanidhi one of the best leaders the country has ever witnessed.
She added: “I hope God gives courage and hope to the family
member and fellow Tamilians to cope with this huge loss #RIPKalaignar.”
