Chief Minister O Panneerselvam on Tuesday briefed Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao about rescue and rehabilitation works.
The Governor enquired about the situation in the wake of the cyclone and the Chief Minister apprised him of the rescue and rehabilitation works being undertaken, according to a Raj Bhavan release.
The central government is already monitoring the situation, it is to be noted.
Prime miniser Narendra Modi and union home minister Rajnath Singh have assured all support to Tamil Nadu, which is hit hard by Vardah Cyclone.
Modi said in a tweet: “My prayers are with all those people who are affected due to adverse weather conditions caused by #CycloneVardah. Stay safe,”
He added: “Centre, @ndmaindia is working closely with local administrations & army for safety of life and property.”
Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh to take stock of the situation in the two states following the landfall of cyclone Vardah and assured them of all help.
