Goods train derails in Telangana; many trains affected
A goods train derailed in the Peddapalli district of Telangana, disrupting rail services in the region. The incident, which took place near the Peddapalli railway station, led to significant delays and cancellations across the South Central Railway zone.
The derailment has affected more than 20 trains, with 10 others being diverted to alternate routes. As a result, passengers traveling on several major routes experienced inconveniences, with train schedules thrown off track. Authorities are working to clear the debris and restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
Indian Railways officials have confirmed that the derailed goods train was carrying essential cargo, and efforts are underway to move the train back onto the tracks. While the cause of the derailment is still under investigation, preliminary reports suggest that the incident was due to a track failure or mechanical issue with the train.
In light of the disruption, South Central Railway has announced the cancellation of several trains and the rerouting of others to minimize the impact on passengers. Railways have urged travelers to check the status of their trains before heading to stations, as more cancellations and diversions may occur until the situation is fully resolved.
Emergency response teams, along with railway officials, are on-site conducting repairs and ensuring safety protocols are being followed. It is expected that normal rail services will resume once the track repairs are completed, although it could take several hours to fully clear the area.
