GOAT director Venkat Prabhu gifts CM Vijay ‘TN07 CM 2026’ number plate
Director Venkat Prabhu has presented CM Vijay with the iconic ‘TN07 CM 2026’ number plate used on the car driven by the actor’s character in The Greatest of All Time (GOAT).
The gesture has drawn fresh attention to a scene from the 2024 film that, many felt, had foretold Vijay’s political rise in Tamil Nadu.
Sharing photos from the meeting on X, Venkat Prabhu wrote, “A history is made. From a thought to a vision to this moment. Happy to have met our honourable CM @TVKVijayHQ na today and present the very first manifestation of #GOAT. This is only the beginning. TN07CM2026 (sic).”
His post came as the number plate from the film continued to be discussed online.
The moment being revisited is from GOAT, where Vijay is seen driving a vehicle with the registration number ‘TN07 CM 2026’.
The detail had received attention at the time of the film’s release, but it has regained traction amid recent political developments, with many reading it as a symbolic or coincidental reference to the 2026 Assembly elections.
GOAT was released months after Vijay launched his Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) in February 2024, when speculation was already growing around his political plans. Days after the scene began circulating again, Venkat Prabhu and actor Premgi Amaren reacted to the clip, adding to the online buzz.
The 51-year-old actor-politician took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10, with the swearing-in ceremony held at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.
