Get inspired by incredible stories- A Heartfelt tribute to women by MGM Healthcare this Womens Day

MGM Healthcare, a leading quaternary care super-specialty hospital, presented a heartfelt tribute on the occasion of Women’s Day- ‘Incredible Stories brought to Life’. Renowned artists Ms. Suhasini Maniratnam, Ms. Lakshmi Vishwanathan and Ms. Saraswathi Krishna Kumar enacted one true life story of prominent women achievers like Vai Mu Kothainayaki and Bharat Ratna M.S. Subbalakshmi in front of the audience. This acts were presented in a theatre format with one artist as each character narrating/ enacting their life story in first person to the audience. It was scripted in a style that made it seem like the character is having a conversation with the audience.

“Stay inspired” paid tribute to the indomitable spirit of women. It traces the story of women, who have redefined and shaped their lives while touching the lives of many around them. National Award Winner Ms. Suhasini Maniratnam enacted the life of Vai Mu Kothainayaki. Through the act, the audiences got a peek into the different facets of Ms. Vai Mu’s life. Ms. Suhasini showcased how the latter was good in midwifery and help women irrespective of case of creed and free of cost. Then she showcased her resolute struggle from jail in the form of her writings and devotion of her entire life in public and social service. She shed light on her other talents which includes an accomplished orator, classical singer and an astute writer.

The next act was presented by Danseuse Padma Shree Lakshmi Vishwanathan as she highlighted the story of grit and determination behind the meteoric rise of Bharat Ratna awardee Ms. M S Subbalakshmi.   The act traced the unknown facets of her life through her songs and were beautiful enacted by the renowned dancer. The last act was presented by Danseuse Saraswathi Krishnakumar as she brought to life Draupadi, an enigmatic woman and tried to delve deep into her psyche about marrying five powerful Pandavas, and who remained speechless as she was pawned away. The act shared the innermost thoughts of Draupadi’s life with the audience.

I want to firstly thank our esteemed artists who helped us and the audience to identify that, this is a time to reflect on progress made, to bring a change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by women from our society, who have played an extraordinary role in shaping our country and communities future. It is a day to celebrate the contribution and achievements of women in our lives, recognize their challenges and focus attention on equal rights for women. These amazing stories of overpowering hurdles will inspire us for the future and help break the stereotypes. I want to thank our wonderful audience who learnt a lot from these scintillating performances and will use this as a platform to empower the society.
