Gautham Menon turns actor, to play difficult role in FIR

Gautham Vasudev Menon has been roped in to play a key role in Vishnu Vishal’s action thriller FIR, directed by debutant Manu Anand.

The film, which also has Manjima Mohan, Raiza Wilson and Reba Monica John, revolves around a young Muslim man whose life turns upside down after he gets into a bizarre situation.

The film which was supposed to go on floors by September this year was pushed due to various reasons, including Vishnu’s injury. Though the film was initially announced that it would be bankrolled by Anand Joy under the banner Sujataa Entertainments it was recently announced that the film would be bankrolled by Vishnu Vishal himself under his own banner.
The film, which marks Vishnu’s fourth production venture, will be a Summer 2020 release. Touted to be an action thriller the film will have three heroines – Manjima Mohan, Reba Monica John and Raiza Wilson in the star cast.

Talking about why they roped in Gautham, Vishnu Vishal says, “When I heard the script, I felt we needed someone majestic with a great voice and body language. It’s a complex character and a very important one in the script, so we had a lot of discussions on who to cast. I suggested to the director that we should approach Gautham sir.”

A statement from the movie’s makers said, “A young Muslim man living in Chennai is caught up in an inexplicable situation which completely changes his life upside down.

This action-thriller storyline captures his journey back to life under the current socio-politico-economic scenario, which is biased with prejudices, in a most entertaining and emotionally powerful way.”

RNR Manohar, Shabeer, Gaurav Narayanan, Abhishek Joseph George, Rakesh Brahmanandan, Praveen K Nair, Prashanth (itisprashant), Vinod Kailash and others will be part of the movie’s cast.

The team has finished 24 days of shoot and is planning on wrapping up the film by the end of February 2020.
