GATE 2019 to be Conducted by IIT Madras: Registration Begins from Sept 01

GATE is one of the most important as well as strenuous exam to enter into the top and prestigious institutes for post-graduation after BTech. This time GATE 2019 will be conducted by IIT Madras. Every year one of the IIT’s conduct GATE examination on a rotational basis. The registration for the same will begin from September 01, and the last date of submission for the application forms is till September 21.
GATE 2019 will be conducted for 24 subjects and the dates for the exam are 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th of February 2019. The online application form will be available on the official website of GATE. You will require your basic information to fill the form. The registration fee is Rs 750 for female candidates and SC/ST/PWD, whereasRs 1500 for all the other categories.
However, GATE 2019 has undergone only one major change that is the addition of one extra subject which is statistics to the existing subjects. Another change that students can observe from this year is that they will be allowed to submit the application forms with a late fee of Rs 500 also in case they are unable to fill and submit it on time.

GATE 2019: Registration process
In order to fill out and submit the online application form of GATE 2019, the students first have to register on GOAPS i.e., Gate Online Application Process Systemwith all the basic details like name, email-id and mobile number. Without registering on the GOAPS portal, the student will not be able to submit their forms.
GOAPS can be accessed through www.gate.iitm.ac.in/. This is the official portal for GATE 2019 and all the necessary information related to the exam including application forms, admit cards, scorecards,etc will be available only on this official GATE website.
Post registering onto the portal, students can get access to the online application forms of GATE 2019. Candidates must ensure to fill in all the details correctly in the online application form.
After filling the online form completely, payment has to be done through credit/debit card or net banking. After the complete registration and submission process it is advised that students should download and save/print the application form for further references.

Documents to be uploaded while filling the application form
Some of the important and mandatory documents that need to be uploaded while filling the online application form are as listed below. Students should keep a scanned copy of all these documents saved in the system before they start filling the online application form.
• Passport size Photograph
• Scanned Signature
• Certificate of qualifying degree
• Reservation certificate, if applicable

GATE 2019: Application fees
The application fees for GATE 2019 is Rs 750 for female candidates and SC/ST/PWD, whereasRs 1500 for all the other categories.
For NRI students: The fee is USD 50 for candidates appearing from Kathmandu, Addis Ababa, Dhaka, Colombo and USD 100 for candidates appearing from Dubai and Singapore.

GATE 2019: Admit Cards
The admit card for GATE 2019 will be released on January 04, 2019 by IIT Madras. Candidates who have registered for the exam can download their admit cards through GOAPS by entering their enrolment number or email id and password. It is required that candidates should go through all the details and the information provided on the admit cards and in case of any discrepancies should inform the authorities as soon as possible. Candidates should carry their admit cards to the examination centres. Entry is restricted in case candidates does not have his admit card.

GATE 2019 :Examination centres:
Candidates will have to fill in upto 3 preferences of the examination centres in the online application form of GATE 2019. There are total 9 zones of GATE examination and the student has to select first and second preference of test centre from the same zone. For instance, if a student selects the first city from say IIT Delhi zone then, the choice of second examination centre also has to be from the same zone. However, the choice for the third exam city centre preference has no restrictions and it can be selected from any zone.

GATE 2019 scorecard:
The scores of GATE 2019 will be valid for a period of 3 years and contain all the essential information like name, registration number, GATE score, normalized marks out of 100, category wise qualifying marks, AIR (All India Rank), validity period and much more.
GATE scores are calculated based on the raw scores obtained in the exam, however, for subjects and papers with multiple sessions normalized marks are taken into account.
