It’s almost certain that superstar Rajinikanth’s Kaala will not hit the screens on April 27, as per the original plans by the producers. The ongoing strike in the industry has subsequently delayed the release of the film.
Industry reports say that the film directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by Dhanush is likely to release for Eid weekend.
Interestingly, Salman Khan’s Race 3 was also scheduled to release for Ramzan, which means there will be a heavy clash overseas and with Bollywood.
Rumours are rife that the audio launch of Kaala can be expected once after the strike ends. It must be noted that ‘Kaala’ has already completed the censor formalities and has been passed with ‘U/A’ certificate.
The entire trade is now waiting for the crucial meet of producers, distributors and digital service providers to be held in the presence of Tamil Nadu Government today.
Kaala will see Rajinikanth playing the role of a gangster, while actor Nana Patekar will reportedly play the main antagonist. Music is by Santhosh Narayanan.
