Fresh circulation over Bay of Bengal, to deepen as low-pressure
A cyclonic circulation lay over north-west and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal this (Tuesday) morning, under whose influence an anticipated low-pressure area is expected to form later in the day.
This also meant an existing ‘low’ over Marathwada anchoring monsoon onset stage has to gradually yield its place to the incumbent.
This once again will shift heavy monsoon activity to south-west coast including over Kerala and Coastal Karnataka; North Interior and South Interior Karnataka; Rayalaseema; Telangana; Coastal Andhra Pradesh; and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal over the next 4-5 days, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
Fairly widespread to widespread to extremely heavy rainfall or isolated to scattered rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds, including thunder squalls, are forecast for these areas during this period.
