hief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, DMK president M K Stalin, BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan and other leaders today greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 68th birthday.
In his letter to the PM, a copy of which was released to the media, the CM said, “On the joyous occasion of your birthday, I take great pleasure in conveying my warm wishes to you for a wonderful year ahead.”
He added: “I pray that the Almighty may grant you many more years of good health and strength to serve our Nation and the people.”
Stalin, in a tweet, said, “Warm greetings and best wishes to Prime Minister @narendramodi on his birthday. I wish him good health and a long life.”
Modi celebrated the day in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi with hundreds of children. All major intersections across the city were decorated beautifully. Sanitation drive was carried out at 68 locations including slum areas.
The Prime Minister visited a government primary school in Naraur where he inspected ‘Room to Read’ library and interacted with about 200 children. Also, cakes, each weighing 68 kg were cut at 68 locations throughout the country.
Also, special prayers were offered in 68 temples to pray for long life of the PM. About a thousand earthen lamps were lit at 90 locations.
