EPS, Stalin campaign in Vellore today

AIADMK joint coordinator and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and DMK president M K Stalin are today hitting the campaign trail in Vellore to seek votes for candidates fielded by the respective parties for next month’s parliamentary polls in the constituency. 

Palaniswami scheduled to launch his whirlwind campaign from today. Palaniswami starts off with a election meeting at Vaniyambadi on Saturday, following by a rally at Ambur that day.
He will be campaigning for the New Justice Party (NJP) candidate A C Shanmugam, an AIADMK-led NDA ally in the State, who is contesting on the AIADMK’s ‘Two leaves’ symbol.

Stalin would address the voters in Latheri on Saturday at 4 p.m. and cover other Assembly segments one by one in the next few days.

Meanwhile, senior police officers met in Vellore on Thursday to discuss about security arrangements for the campaign of the VVIPs. More than 1,500 police personnel would be deployed for security arrangements during their election campaigns, it is learnt.

On the first day, Palaniswami would address public meetings at
Vaaniyambai and Ambur and on July 28 at Keezhvaidhyanarkuppam
and Gudiyatham. On August two, the Chief Minister would address meetings at Anaicut and Vellore.

Stalin’s son and DMK youth wing secretary, Udayanidhi Stalin, will also be campaigning throughout the constituency for another three days from July 29.
