Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and deputy CM Panneerselvam today visited DMK president and former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, who continues to be treated at the ICU of Kauvery hospital for the third consecutive day.
Speaking to reporters, Palaniswami said, “I saw former Chief Minister at the ICU itself. He is with all good health and will soon recover.”
Following them politicians, cinema personalities and industrialists including, MDMK chief Vaiko, filmmakers Ramesh Kannah, Manobala, Vikraman, SMK leader Sarathkumar, spiritualist Jaggi Vasudev, India Cements head N Srinivasan and lyricist Vairamuthu, visited the hospital.
Karunanidhi’s health suffered a setback on Sunday evening but with medical support his vital signs became normal by night. He continues to receive medical assistance at Kauvery Hospital.
DMK workers continued to swarm the hospital premises, despite police asking them to avoid crowding the area and party leader M.K. Stalin appealing for calm and cooperation with police in maintaining law and order.
The DMK patriarch, who is suffering from urinary tract infection, was also visited by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. Trinamool Congress leader Derek O’ Brien met Stalin and Kanimozhi. Actor-politician Kamal Haasan also visited the DMK chief.
