Describing the DMK as an epitome of corruption and the party’s president M K Stalin as head of those who indulge in wrongful acts, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said they have done nothing good for the State.
During election campaigning, Palaniswami said, “The manifesto of the DMK is a bundle of lie. If the manifesto is for State elections, we can hope for a little. It is impossible to implement his promises since we are fighting Parliamentary elections.”
The CM Stalin was not qualified to speak on the Cauvery issue since the party had failed to notify the final award of the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal in the gazette.
Also, he said the DMK had not fulfilled any of the promises it had made during the last assembly elections.
“Both Stalin and I had been members of the assembly. I was a farmer and rose to my present position through my hard work. However, DMK president Stalin is dreaming to achieve the post with the only qualification that he is late DMK leader Karunanidhi’s son.”
He said that in AIADMK, the cadre and the people were the leaders and the party worked only for the welfare of the people. “But DMK only focusses on preventing welfare schemes from reaching people,” he said.
In a recent interview, the Chief Minister said, “AIADMK chose to be in alliance with BJP for the welfare of Tamil people. Compatibility with the Centre allows the state to enjoy huge welfare schemes. Amidst all those surveys and studies over the results of upcoming elections, BJP will win the elections with utmost majority. All the parties in our alliance want Narendra Modi to be the PM again. But if you notice the opposition, they don’t have any general agreement over the PM candidate.”
