EB cables stolen from poles in Tiruvallur
Residents of Tiruvullar, especially the farmers are facing a difficult situation as the EB cables on the poles running through the agricultural fields in Ikkadu Kandigai village in Tiruvallur are being stolen on a regular basis.
Sources said that this has become a habitual occurrence in the villages in and around Tiruvallur for the past few days.
Residents alleged that no action has been taken against by the officials even after repeated complaints.
“Despite giving proper complaint, no action has been taken by the EB department and the police as well,” said a resident.
Farmers said that if this continues to happen, then it will be difficult to get power supply to the farm lands following which the paddy fields will go dry as water cannot be supplied without power.
“Since the EB cables are being stolen, the farms do not get power supply to operate the motor to pump water to the agricultural lands. I request the officials to take necessary action at the earliest,” said Kalimuthu, a farmer.
