DVAC officials raid AIADMK MLA Amman K Arjunan’s properties

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) conducted raids at properties linked to AIADMK MLA Amman Arjunan, who represents the Coimbatore North constituency in Tamil Nadu.

The searches are part of an investigation into allegations of disproportionate assets against the legislator.

Reacting strongly to the development, Leader of Opposition and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) accused the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) of political vendetta, claiming the probe was an attempt to divert attention from the state government’s failures.

In a post on X, Palaniswami condemned the raids, stating, “My strong denunciation to the Stalin-model DMK government under @mkstalin for launching a ‘corruption eradication’ probe against our brother and esteemed official Mr. @AmmanKArjunan, the district secretary of the Coimbatore Municipal District and the Coimbatore North Constituency Member of Legislative Assembly.”

EPS further alleged that corruption was rampant in all departments under the DMK government and accused the ruling party of using anti-corruption investigations as a cover for its administrative shortcomings.

“Today, under the Stalin-model rule of the DMK in Tamil Nadu, there isn’t a single department free from corruption. These notorious ‘corruption idols’ have turned the ‘corruption eradication probe’ into one of their diversionary tactics to hide both the problems occurring in the country and their own administrative incompetence in fixing them,” he wrote.
