Days after inking a pact with the ruling AIADMK to be part of the NDA in the state, PMK party founder S Ramadoss on Friday night hosted a grand feast for chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami , deputy CM O Panneerselvam and other AIADMK leaders.
The PMK chief had his first meeting with the ruling party top brass after the agreement and discussed poll preparations over dinner at his Thailapuram residence.
Besides OPS and EPS, ministers including P Thangamani, S P Velumani, C Ve Shanmugam and K P Anabalagan were present at the sprawling farm house.
On Friday evening, the Chief Minister reached Tindivanam and party cadre led by Law Minister C Ve Shanmugam received him. Later, addressing the party cadre, the Chief Minister said the parliamentary election is approaching and under the AIADMK, a mega alliance had been formed.
He asked the party members to ensure that all candidates, including those nominated by alliance parties, win the elections like they did when former chief minister J Jayalalithaa was alive.
Meanwhile, the DMK and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) on Friday reached an electoral agreement whereby the latter gets to contest in one seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In a statement, the DMK said an agreement has been reached with IUML after talks.
