Director S P Jananathan hospitalised

Director SP Jananathan, who is known for his films like Iyarkai and Peranmai, is admitted to a hospital in Chennai.

Jananathan was found unconscious at his home yesterday and immediately, he was rushed to the hospital by his assistants in the evening. Reportedly, his health is critical and is under observation in the Intensive Care Unit.

The director was busy editing Laabam and went back home yesterday evening. But as he didn’t back to the editing room, his assistants rushed back to the director’s home to only find him unconscious.

His first film as director was Iyarkai that released in 2003 and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil in 2004. Prior to becoming a director, he worked as an assistant director for films like B. Lenin, Bharathan, Vincent Selva and Keyar.
