Sidelined AIADMK leader T T V Dhinakaran has launched a fresh attack on his rival, Chief Minister K Palaniswami and vowed to ‘end this rule of betrayal’ within a week.
Stating that the present government would fall in a week, Dhinakaran defended his faction’s move to implead itself in a petition filed by DMK working president and Leader of the Opposition M K Stalin in the Madras High Court.
He asserted that there was no political motive behind the decision and also added that there are no plans to partner with the DMK.
Claiming that thousands of party cadres and people do not want Palaniswami government to continue, Dhinakaran said the chief minister betrayed jailed Sasikala soon after getting the top post.
“Adharma and betrayal have never triumphed. In one week, we will end this rule of betrayal,” he said. “When Chinnamma recommended Palaniswami’s name as chief minister, there were many MLAs who did not agree to that. Even Palaniswami asked me not to announce his name without getting the signatures of all MLAs,” said Dhinakaran.
Meanwhile, reacting sharply, the CM said, “Dhinakaran says he will send us packing home but he himself is sure to end up soon in maamiyar veedu (prison). Our government is stable.”
Speaking at the birth anniversary celebrations of late Chief Minister C N Annadurai, Edappadi K Palaniswami did not spare Opposition Leader M K Stalin saying even his father M Karunanidhi did not trust him to make him the DMK president despite being unwell himself.
