Dhanush’s Agni Natchathiram remake dropped?

The latest update about the much talked about remake of Agni Natchathiram is that, director Bijoy Nambiar has decided to shelve the project for the moment.

According to reports, the movie was supposed to go on floors from August but that didn’t really pan out. The reason for this hold up seems to be the protagonist Dhanush himself, who is already working on way too many projects and as a result, could not give the required dates for this film.

Earlier, it was said Dhanush was doing Bejoy Nambiar’s Hindi remake of Tamil cult classic Agni Natchathiram. Bijoy Nambiar had earlier made David which was a flop, it may be recalled.

“The film was originally planned with Vicky Kaushal and Harshvardhan Rane as the two leads. But now, in a coup of sorts, Bejoy has managed to get Dhanush, who will be replacing Vicky in the film,” said sources.

They added: “Dhanush will be playing the role that Karthik essayed in the original, while Harshvardhan will be playing Prabhu’s role. The actresses are yet to be finalised.”

Agni Natchathiram, directed by Mani Ratnam with musical score by maestro Ilayaraja, is all about the ego clash between two half-brother and how they unite to save their dad from a deadly villain.
