Months after Dhanush’s first directorial venture Pa Paandi, there were reports that actor’s second directorial would start soon and it would feature Nagarjuna Akkineni, Sarathkumar and othes in lead roles.
However, the makers of the film then cleared the rumours saying the film has been put on hold as Dhanush was busy shooting for director Vetrimaaran’s Asuran.
Now, the latest is that Dhanush is set to to resume his dream project and that the film is titled Naan Rudran set in the pre-independence era. SJ Surya, Srikanth, Aditi Rao Hydari and Anu Emmanuel are also included in the cast.
The expectation levels are already revving up for it. The first look poster and the formal announcement are to be made shortly, say sources. Dhanush tasted great success with his first directorial venture Pa Pandi starring Raj Kiran and Revathi.
It may be noted here that Dhanush originally planned the script for his father-in-law Rajinikanth but the Superstar could not take up the offer due to date issues.
Following this, Nag was approached to take up the role considering his huge popularity among the Tamil and Telugu audiences. But for reasons unknown, the project had been put in the cold storage.
In a media interaction, Nagarjuna said, “Dhanush has offered me a role in his next directorial project. He had originally planned the role with Rajinikanth, but since he is actively involved in politics, he approached me. Honestly, I’m yet to take a call on signing the project.”
