Dhanush is to direct the sequel of Pa Paandi and he is planning to cast in Goundamani along with Raj Kiran for the film. Goundamani was last seen on big screens in the film Vaaimai, which was directed by Senthil Kumar.
Dhanush is currently engaged in a long line-up of films with promising directors. The actor’s upcoming gangster-thriller (tentatively titled D40) with director Karthik Subbaraj recently wrapped its shooting.
The film is bankrolled by YNot Studios and it will feature Santhosh Narayanan’s music. Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, James Cosmo, Kalaiyarasan and Sanchana Natarajan play crucial roles among others. Reportedly, the film is title Suruli.
Pa Paandi revolved around an aging stunt man who travels to meet his teenage love after a trouble in his family, and whether he reunites with his family as well his love is what the movie is all about. The movie also had Dhanush playing the younger version of Rajkiran and Madonna Sebastian as young Revathi.
Director Subramaniam Siva revealed during an interview that Dhanush has plans to rope in both Goundamani and Rajkiran in the sequel.
Meanwhile, Dhanush is currently busy with the shooting of his next film with Pariyerum Perumal famed director Mari Selvaraj. Titled Karnan, the film also has Mollywood actor Lal, Rajisha Vijayan, Gouri G Kishan will be seen playing key roles in the film.
Pa Paandi was released in 14 April 2017, coinciding with the Tamil New Year’s Day, receiving positive reviews from critics and became a commercial success. This movie was remade in Kannada as Ambi Ning Vayassaytho, which features veteran actor Ambareesh and Sudeep as lead role, and was released in 2018.
