Dhanush denies shelving ‘Vada Chennai 2’

With a few sections of the media reporting that the ambitious ‘Vada Chennai 2’ has been shelved, the movie’s protagonist Dhanush has denied taking any such decision.

“Don’t know what caused this confusion among my fans. Vadachennai part 2 is very much on,” the National Award winning actor posted on his microblogging page.

He added: “Unless you see any official confirmation from my Twitter handle please do not believe in rumours regarding any project of mine. Thank you. Love you.”

In a recent media interaction, director Vetrimaaran said ‘Vada Chennai’ will get a prequel titled ‘Rajan Vagaira’. He added that the prequel will be a web series for a digital platform.

The ‘Aadukalam’ and ‘Visaranai’ maker said, “We’d like to explore the prequel idea. I think it’d be best suited as a web series on some digital platform. The prequel will be called Rajan Vagaira, and it will track the rise of Rajan’s character in Vada Chennai and how he built his empire.”
