Dhanush denies Ilaya Superstar title, gets trained in martial arts for Pattas

Dhanush has turned down an offer from ace producer Kalaipuli S Thanu who said the actor would henceforth be called as Ilaya (Young) Superstar.

“There is only one Superstar and he is Rajini sir,” said the son-in-law of Rajinikanth, sources said. Meanwhile, Dhanush’s film with Durai Senthilkumar is titled Pattas.

In the movie, Dhanush will be seen in a dual role that of a father and son, with Sneha and Mehreen Pirzada paired opposite to the two characters.

Cinematographer Om Prakash will crank the camera and this will be his fourth outing with Dhanush after Maari, Anegan and Maari 2. The music will be taken care of by Vivek-Mervin duo.

Dhanush, who is recognised in Bollywood for his roles in the films Raanjhanaa and Shamitabh, celebrated his 36th birthday on July 28.

On the occasion, as is the tradition in South Indian industry, the first look of his upcoming film Pattas was revealed on social media.

In the poster, Dhanush can be seen in a stylish avatar, with a cool hairdo and yellow coloured sunglasses. Dhanush seems to be playing a young character as is visible from the actor’s face.

Durai Senthilkumar says, “This film will revolve around a martial art form that was present even before Kalari… something that the Cholargal practised. It will be a commercial as well as an emotional film. Dhanush took some training for the role before we started the project.”
