Despite clearing legal decks, KIK postponed to next week

The Madras High Court on Wednesday gave its nod for the release of G V Prakash Kumar Kadavul Irukan Kumaru as it vacated the stay granted against its release with a condition to deposit Rs 35 lakh in the court within four weeks.

But still, the movie has been postponed to November 17, instead of the earlier announced date of November 11. Though the legal issues pertaining to the release of the film were sorted ou,t the Rs.500 and Rs.1000 currency notes are abolished and ATMs will not be functioning for a couple of days and banking also affected.

This is likely to cause difficulties in cash transactions for the next few days and fans coming to watch the film will surely be affected. Keeping this in mind producer T. Siva has taken the decision to move KIK’s release by a week.

In a recent Facebook chat session RJ Balaji, who plays the comedian in the film has revealed that Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru will not have drinking scenes.

Balaji has also revealed that his ten minute portion of Pesuvadhellam Unmai (spoof of Lakshmy Ramakrishnan’s Solluvadhellam Unmai) with GV Prakash, Oorvashi, Anandhi and MS Baskar will be the highlight comic sequence in the film.

Vacating the stay on Wednesday, the court said, “While permitting the movie to be released by way of an interim order the G&7G Films is directed to deposit Rs 35 lakh in the court within four weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order without prejudice to the contention of the parties which should be taken note of while disposing of the application.”
