Demon Movie Review

Unique idea

Story:

Vignesh Shivan (Sachin) is an aspiring filmmaker who wants to leave his imprint with a horror film. He gets a producer much to his happiness and eagerly moves into a new apartment to focus on the project.

However, Vignesh starts experiencing strange things. Each night brings a new, eerie nightmare. Though he tries dismissing them as mere figments of his imagination, the intensity escalates, leaving him shaken and shocked.

As Vignesh learns of the apartment’s sinister history, panic sets in. He grapples with the chilling question: What is the malevolent force behind these mysterious deaths, and will he able to find it?

Analysis:

Demon a novel concept in horror genre and it’s welcome. But better execution would have made a world of difference.

The film’s pacing is a significant issue. However, this latter part of the story begins to captivate the audience and there are some chilling moments too.

Sachin skillfully conveys his character’s growing desperation and terror. The film keeps viewers on the edge of their seats during the second half.

Despite its flaws, Demon has some redeeming qualities. The film’s premise is intriguing, and Sachin’s performance is commendable. The film also features some effective scares, particularly in the second half.

Rating: 3 out of 5
