Delhi police arrest 3 alleged Lawrence Bishnoi gang operatives amid FBI reward
Delhi Police have arrested three suspected members of the Lawrence Bishnoi criminal network who were allegedly preparing to carry out a targeted killing.
According to investigators, the accused were acting on instructions received through contacts operating from abroad. Police said the trio is linked to several criminal cases in Delhi and has previously been involved in targeted attacks.
The arrests come days after two alleged gang members were killed during a joint operation by the Delhi Police Special Cell and the Haryana Special Task Force near Bahadurgarh. The deceased were wanted in connection with the June murder of a gym trainer in Haryana.
The crackdown coincides with growing international attention on the Bishnoi network. The FBI has announced a reward of up to USD 50,000 for information leading to the arrest of Satinderjeet Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, who faces charges in the United States related to organised crime, extortion and narcotics trafficking.
US prosecutors have also charged Lawrence Bishnoi and Brar in a wider organised crime case that includes allegations linked to violent criminal activities. American authorities have emphasised that the charges remain allegations and that all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
