Darbar single Summa Kizhi becomes anthem of Rajini fans, sets new records

After Superstar Rajinikanth’s Darbar won fans with the Thalaivar themed motion poster, the lyrical video of the first track from the film, ‘Summa Kizhi’ has been launched.

Unveiling the song, music composer Anirudh Ravichander tweeted: “Decades may pass.. but this legend’s energy keeps inspiring! Thank you dear SPB sir for #ChummaKizhi  5pm it is  #DarbarPongal #DarbarThiruvizha @ARMurugadoss”.

While SPB sang only a few lines in Marana Mass composed by Anirudh Ravichander in Petta, he is said to have sung major portions in Summa Kizhi. The song has become an anthem among Rajini fans and has crossed 5 million views on YouTube within a short span of time.

Chumma Kizhi is a song that celebrates Rajinikanth and lyrics penned by Vivek speak volumes about the star’s achievements. Anirudh Ravichander has come up with a catchy tune and singer SP Balasubrahmanyam’s voice add to the grandeur.

Towards the end of the video, Rajinikanth tells Anirudh that he is super impressed with the song and that it will definitely be a celebration when the song in screened in theatres.

Rajinikanth, dressed in black, flicks his hand as he says, “Chumma Kizhi!” into the mic, and this is how the first single from his upcoming Darbar begins.  Singer SPB takes over following Rajini’s cue and the song has all the elements of a typical Rajini intro-song.
