Darbar:  Collection, controversy and conspiracy updates

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Darbar directed by A R Murugadoss, which hit the screens on Thursday, has made a record collection of Rs 119 crore on the first day itself.

In Chennai city, the Rajinikanth starrer grossed 2.27 crores on day one. Though it’s a working day, the Tamil Nadu Government granted permission for special shows which also contributed to the phenomenal opening.

In the US, Darbar has crossed the 600k$ mark with the premieres and early day one collection. In Singapore, the film opened at number 1 position and in Australia, Darbar crossed around 160kA$.

Meanwhile, a Twitter user named Wolf Twits has criticised director Murugadoss for stealing the story of YC Pawar, a Mumbai police officer who fought against Vardha Bhai.

The post said, “தர்பார் படத்தின் கதை வேறொன்றுமில்லை

In the meantime, dialogues indirectly mocking the alleged reports on Sasikala going out of Bengaluru prison using a proxy for shopping and other personal needs have been removed from Darbar.

Darbar also stars Nayanthara, Nivetha Thomas, Prateik Babbar, Yogi Babu, Dalip Tahil, and others. ‘Darbar’ is produced by Lyca Productions, and it has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
