D55: Sai Abhyankkar to compose music for film
Sai Abhyankkar has been named the music composer for D55, an upcoming Tamil film starring Dhanush and directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy of Amaran fame.
The collaboration was made public following speculation about the young composer’s involvement in the project. D55, which was first announced in November last year, is yet to receive an official title.
Backed by Wunderbar Films and RTake Studios, the film has generated interest within the industry due to its promising line-up.
Abhyankkar has enjoyed a positive run in the film industry over the past year. After making his debut as a composer in the Malayalam film Balti featuring Shane Nigam, he entered Tamil cinema with Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju’s Dude.
His song ‘Oorum Blood’ from Dude became a significant hit, crossing 100 million views and gaining widespread popularity on various streaming and social media platforms.
In addition to D55, Abhyankkar has joined other key projects such as Raghava Lawrence’s Benz, Suriya’s Karuppu, Karthi’s Marshal, and an untitled film starring Allu Arjun directed by Atlee.
The composer’s recent successes have established him as a sought-after talent in the South Indian film industry.
