Cops devise plan to deal robbers with iron hand: Close on the heels of a robbery attempt by two motorbike-bound men ended up killing a young woman, who is working as a school teacher, and a man walking along the Pattinappakkam roadside in Chennai on Monday night, the police have come out with a plan to deal with robbers.
“A meeting was held and it was decided to deal them with iron hand,” sources said.
Nandhini, a teacher at Vael’s Billabong High International School in Neelankarai, and her cousin Najju, alias Gayathri, 20, a college student, had stopped their scooter in front of an ATM at 9.45pm.
After Najju withdrew cash, they were riding back home. When they reached South Canal Bank Road, a helmet-wearing man on a bike snatched Najju’s bag. Nandhini gave the man a chase on her two-wheeler.
