CM Vijay’s crucial meeting with alliance partners today

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president C. Joseph Vijay will hold a consultation with parties that have extended support to his government after the Assembly elections. The meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. on July 1 at a private hotel in Kovalam near Chennai.

The gathering comes at a time of significant political shifts in the state, following the weakening of the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance after the 2026 Assembly election results. The discussions are expected to focus on strengthening coordination among the ruling coalition’s supporting parties.

Tamil Nadu’s political landscape continues to evolve with the ruling TVK inviting several regional parties for a meeting with Chief Minister Vijay on July 1.

Among those invited are the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML). The move follows the MDMK’s recent decision to leave the DMK-led alliance and extend support to the TVK government, signaling continued changes in the state’s alliance structure.
