CM storms US, visits dairy farm in Buffalo

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, who has reached the US from the UK, visited a dairy farm in Buffalo in the United States.

At the dairy farm, he gained first hand information about technologies required for a world class veterinary park to be set up in Salem. He has uploaded a video from the US on his Twitter page, which shows his interactions with the delegates there.

Palaniswami’s western dress on his UK trip has attracted derisive social media reactions by people amused by the ‘farmer’ attending his official engagements ‘suited and booted’ in the British capital.

His lieutenants in the ruling AIADMK and the Cabinet have hit back, stoutly defending their Maanbumigu Muthalvar who must dress like a Roman when in Rome, or like a British gent in London.

Palaniswami signed three agreements for collaboration in the healthcare sector on his first day of his UK tour. The Chief Minister is on the first leg of his three-nation tour which he set out for on Wednesday.

According to reports, of the three agreements, two were Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) and one was Statement of Intent. While one MoU was signed between the government of Tamil Nadu and International Skills Development Corporation, to develop the skills of the healthcare staff in the state, another MoU was between the government of Tamil Nadu and the King’s College London. King’s College London is looking to establish a branch of the college in Tamil Nadu.
