Prime minister Narendra Modi, union minister Pon Radhakrishnan, Tamil Nadu governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, chief minister O Panneerselvam, opposition leader M K Stalin and superstar Rajinikanth among others have condoled the death of Cho Ramaswamy, whose mortal remains were cremated this evening at Besant Nagar crematorium.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his twitter page, “Cho Ramaswamy was a multidimensional personality, towering intellectual, great nationalist & fearless voice who was respected and admired.”
“Above all, Cho Ramaswamy was a dear friend. I have been to his annual readers meeting which were an unprecedented editor reader interface.”
“Cho Ramaswamy was insightful, frank & brilliant. Pained by his demise. Condolences to his family & countless readers of Thuglak.”
The Governor said, “I am deeply shocked and grieved to hear about the sad demise of Cho Ramasamy, an actor, editor, lawyer and writer. He was a multifaceted personality, a bold, veteran journalist and a political critic who never hesitated to express his views unequivocally.
“The field of journalism has lost a doyen and a great personality. I
convey my sincere condolences to the bereaved members of the family and pray to God to rest his soul in peace,” he added.
