Chennai Metro Rail plans cultural events during Pongal

As part of celebrating Tamil Culture and various art forms of South India, CMRL in collaboration with South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur is conducting ‘CMRL Metro Pongal Cultural Festival’ at Saidapet, Central and Thirumangalam Metro Stations from 9 to 11 January from 5.45 pm to 8.30 pm.

According to a press note today, as part of celebrating our heritage, on 09-01-2019 (Thursday) at Saidapet Metro Station:

  1. Sigaputhin and crew from Paiyanur, Kerala will be performing Thiruvathirakali & Oppana at 5.45 pm

  2. Bhoothiyappa and crew from Shimoka, Karnataka will be performing Dollukunitha Thullisai Nadanam at 6.30 pm

  3. Selvam crew from Krishnagiri will be performing Tappattam at 7.15 pm.

On 10.01.2019 (Friday) at Central Metro Station:

  1. Sigaputhin and crew from Paiyanur, Kerala will be performing Thiruvathirakali & Oppana at 5.45 pm

  2. Bhoothiyappa and crew from Shimoka, Karnataka will be performing Dollukunitha Thullisai Nadanam at 6.30 pm

  3. Selvam and crew from Krishnagiri will be performing Tappattam at 7.15 pm

On 11.01.2019 (Saturday) at Thirumangalam Metro Station:

  1. Sigaputhin and crew from Paiyanur, Kerala will be performing Thiruvathirakali & Oppana at 5.45 pm

  2. Bhoothiyappa and crew from Shimoka, Karnataka will be performing Dollukunitha Thullisai Nadanam at 6.30 pm

  3. Selvam crew from Krishnagiri will be performing Tappattam at 7.15 pm.
