Canadian police say no evidence links Indian Government to Nijjar case

Canadian police have stated that investigators have not found evidence connecting the Government of India to the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

The statement marks a notable development after allegations made by former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in 2023 led to a prolonged diplomatic dispute between India and Canada.

Meanwhile, US authorities have charged alleged gang leaders Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar in connection with the case. Public court documents reportedly do not accuse the Indian government of involvement.

Following the change in leadership in Canada, both countries have recently taken steps to improve diplomatic relations through renewed engagement.
