Cabinet hails Modi’s 25 years at the helm of government

The Union Cabinet has marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s completion of 25 years in continuous leadership of a government, describing his political journey from Gujarat to the Centre as an exceptional period of public service.

At its meeting on Tuesday, October 6, the Cabinet adopted a resolution congratulating Modi on completing 25 years as the head of a government.

The resolution noted that Modi first served as Gujarat Chief Minister before becoming Prime Minister and said his leadership had consistently been guided by the principles of “Nation First and Citizen First”.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw briefed journalists after the meeting and said the resolution was intended to recognise more than a ceremonial milestone.

According to Vaishnaw, the Cabinet highlighted several aspects of Modi’s political career, including the electoral mandates he received in Gujarat and the support extended to him in three consecutive Lok Sabha elections.

The resolution described these victories as evidence of sustained public confidence in Modi’s leadership.

Vaishnaw said the document outlined 10 major features connecting Modi’s tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister with his subsequent years as Prime Minister.
