The Police Control Room in Chennai received a call on Sunday morning informing them about a bomb being planted at actor Vijay’s house in Saligramam.
Following this, a thorough search was conducted by bomb squad and the threat was found to be hoax. The police has confirmed that the caller has been traced and is said to be of unsound mind.
“It was a hoax call by a mentally unstable youth,” a police official said. A young man with psycho-social disabilities from Marakkanam in Villupuram district was identified as the caller. He was let off with a warning.
“He has made such calls in the past to former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, Puducherry Chief Minister Narayanaswamy and Puducherry Governor Kiran Bedi. He’d call 100, make an anonymous threat and hang up,” Marakkanam Inspector reportedly said.
Earlier last month, a similar bomb threat was issued to Rajinikanth’s name when an anonymous caller informed the police that there’s a bomb at the superstar’s Poes Garden residence in Chennai.
When the police searched the place for a few hours and didn’t find anything, it was concluded that the threat was fake.
On the work front, Vijay is awaiting the release of his Master directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and also starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. The movie has musical score by Anirudh Ravichander.
