Days after Income Tax raids at his properties, shockng details have emerged about the dealings of Vijay. If a report in a vernacular magazine is to be believed, the actor is linked with conversion racket.
The report said I-T officials showed him documents of his huge assets, worth over Rs 1200 crore in various parts of India and abroad. When they said they would attach the properties since they were purchased with black money, the actor requested them not to do so.
Vijay also reportedly requested I-T officials he would pay the required fine. The report also claimed that he was closely connected with an influential group involved in Christian conversion and there were huge financial dealings in this regard.
Vijay has been in the news for the past one week as Income-Tax officers raided his properties in Chennai. He has also been summoned by the I-T department asking him to appear before them within three days.
The raid was in connection with the search that was going on at the properties of AGS Enterprises and financier Anbu Chezhiyan. The officials had seized Rs 77 crore and several documents from Anbu Chezhiyan’s properties.
In a statement last week, the IT department said Vijay’s investment in immovable properties and remuneration received from AGS Group for acting in a film (Bigil) was the focus of the search. The tax department also claimed to have detected Rs 300 crore hidden income during searches at Anbu Chezhiyan”s residence and office located here and in Madurai.
Anbu Chezhiyan is a movie financier and also owns a movie production house. About 38 premises were searched in Chennai and Madurai. The highlight was seizure of Rs 77 crore unaccounted cash, purportedly belonging to the financier, from hideouts, the IT department said.
