BJP to stage state-wide protests against killing of Hindu leaders

The Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has said it will conduct agitations at district headquarters across the state, to condemn the murders of Hindu leaders.

In a statement, BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan said the protests will be held on September 28 all over Tamil Nadu. The recent incident is the murder of Hindu Munnani spokesperson C Sasikumar in Coimbatore

Meanwhile, speaking to reporters after the visiting the house of Sasikumar in Thudiyalur, she alleged police failed to provide protection to him, despite a threat to his life.
“Despite Sasikumar seeking protection following a life threat, police failed to give him protection, resulting in his murder by a four-member gang near his house,” she said.

Leaders including DMK treasurer M K Stalin have condemned the murder of Hindu Munnani Coimbatore spokesperson Sasikumar a few days ago. While calling the government to take strict action on the assailants, he has urged it to act against those indulged in violence during the funeral procession of Sasikumar.

Sasikumar was returning home on a two-wheeler on the night of September 22 in Subramaniampalayam in the outskirts of the city when unidentified assailants chased him on motorcycles and attacked him with sickles.
