The Bharatiya Janata Party led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah is set to post a major victory in the Lok Sabha elections.
As per trends, BJP is leading in a whopping number of 326 seats, Congress in 109 seats and other parties in 92 seats.
As the trends started coming in, there is a mood of joy and celebration among BJP workers. They hailed Modi for this grand victory and for becoming the Prime Minister for the second consecutive term.
On Sunday evening, the exit polls had predicted that the BJP-led alliance will return to power after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The exit poll of polls put NDA safely above the majority mark at 312.
Twelve of 14 exit polls predicted the NDA getting full majority with seats ranging seats from 282 to 365. A party or an alliance needs 271 seats to form the government as Lok Sabha elections were held on 542 of the 543 seats.
In 2014, the NDA had won 336 seats and the Congress 44. The BJP had notched up its maiden majority by bagging 282 seats. Elections to 542 seats of the 543-member Lok Sabha ended on Sunday.
