Bhagyashri Borse reflects on family opposition and journey to success
Actress Bhagyashri Borse has spoken openly about the personal struggles she faced before entering the film industry, revealing that her family initially opposed her decision to pursue acting.
During an interaction with college students, the Lenin actor said that every member of her family discouraged her from choosing films as a career, largely because of concerns about her safety and future.
She explained that her parents’ resistance came from fear rather than a lack of faith in her abilities, saying they worried about the challenges she could face while living independently.
One of the most difficult moments, she recalled, was when her mother stopped communicating with her for six months and even blocked her on WhatsApp. Despite the emotional strain, Bhagyashri said she remained determined because she believed her parents would eventually take pride in her achievements.
Her goal, she said, was to earn respect through her work so that her parents would be recognized for her accomplishments.
The actor also encouraged young people to pursue their ambitions without fear of future regrets. Speaking about financial independence, Bhagyashri recounted a childhood memory involving a pair of slippers she wanted but could not buy because her father declined the purchase. She said the experience taught her the importance of managing money independently and negotiating wisely.
She urged women to build financial security by owning property and maintaining savings in their own names. Bhagyashri added that one of her happiest moments was using her first major earnings to buy gifts for her parents, describing their happiness as her greatest reward.
