Beast movie review

Story:

A group of terrorists hijack a mall in Chennai and take the visitors as hostages.

The group demands the release of a notorious terrorist from Tihar jail.

Veera Raghavan (Vijay), India’s best RAW agent gets trapped in the mall along with his love interest Preeti (Pooja Hegde) and few other visitors.

How Veera saves the visitors by eliminating the terrorists forms the rest of the story.

Analysis:

Director Nelson Dhilipkumar has took up a done and dusted storyline and has delivered it in his own style. The screenplay is very gripping keeping the audience engaged.  He has extracted good work from all the members of the cast. However, a few logical loopholes could have been avoided.

Vijay is at his best as Veeraraghavan. His body language, dialogue delivery and most importantly his humour timing are sure to impress the audience.

He has performed some high octane stunts and credits to the stunt choreographers Anbariv.

Pooja Hegde is adequate in her role and looks pretty.

Selvaraghavan who is making his debut as actor with Beast has done his job in a satisfying manner.

Rest of the cast have also fit in their roles perfectly.  Anirudh’s BGM is one of the biggest strengths of the movie. Manoj Paramahamsa’s camerawork is colourful.

Rating: 3.8/5
