Taapsee back in Kollywood

Awards are not ultimate: Taapsee

Taapsee Pannu, known for her outspoken statements, is at it again. Despite winning multiple honours, she has said awards are very subjective and it’s not really an ultimate mark of how good one is.

Only recently, she won best actress award for Game Over (in Tamil) instituted by Ananda Vikatan and best actress award in Bollywood at Star Screen Awards for Sandh Ki Aankh.

She said, “I have always maintained that awards are very subjective and it’s not really an ultimate mark of how good one is. But the reason I feel like celebrating this is that I have finally achieved a feat in the same year and that I could make an impact in both Hindi as well as in southern states.”

The Aadukalam and Vandhaan Vendraan actress added: “It’s heartening to see audiences and jury across languages believing that I am worthy of this honour.”

With films like Baby (2015), Pink (2016) and Naam Shabana (2017), Taapsee Pannu earned the moniker of a serious actor. And then came Judwaa 2 (2017) that saw the actor in a glamourised avatar. To this date, the comic caper remains her most commercial film.

It might have been tagged as a popcorn flick but it was a rather important film for her. “When I did Judwaa 2, I didn’t only want to achieve a certain box office figure but also break the myth that a girl who works in unconventional films cannot be a mainstream actor,” Taapsee says.

Recently, she took to her Instagram handle to share a selfie with ‘Bala’ actor Ayushmann Khurrana and it is unmissable! First, she shared a picture of their shoes and quizzed her fans to guess who the actor is and later she shared the photo of the ‘Dream Girl’ actor.
