Vijay was recently tagged by Telugu star Mahesh Babu in the Green India Challenge to plant a sapling. Now responding to it, Vijay, who usually keeps a low profile on social media, shared photos of himself planting what appears to be a pink bougainvillea in the garden outside his residence.
The actor wrote, “This is for you @urstrulyMahesh garu. Here’s to a Greener India and Good health. Thank you #StaySafe.” The Green India Challenge requires people to plant tree saplings at their home or at a public space to make the country safer to live in.
Further, many celebrities nominate three other people to continue the chain. However, Vijay refrained from nominating anyone. In one of the photos, he is seen holding a sapling in his hand and posing for the camera. Vijay also thanked Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu for nominating him.
It is quite rare for actor Vijay to share photos or messages via social media and his Twitter account is managed by his office. The last photo the actor shared was of him waving after completing the day’s shooting for the upcoming film Master in Tamil Nadu’s Neyveli.
Mahesh Babu celebrated his 45 th birthday recently by taking up the Green India Challenge and nominating Vijay, Shruti Haasan and Jr NTR to take up the same.
While Shruti Haasan replied to Mahesh and assured him, she’ll soon take up the challenge and wrote, “Thankyou for nominating me sir!! I would love to be a part of this wonderful step.
Meanwhile, the latest buzz is that of a surprising announcement is on the way from the team of Vijay’s Master ahead of Independence Day. It will be about the film’s release, sources say.
