Director Santhosh P Jayakumar who made adult comedies like Hara Hara Mahadevaki and Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuthu, takes the serious route with his next, a thriller, which will have Arvind Swami in the lead.
Says Santhosh, “It is a detective thriller, where Arvind Swami will play the role of a CB-CID officer. I wanted someone who can pull this off in a subtle, mature and in an intellectual manner. And the first person who came to mind was Arvind Swami.”
He added: “He really liked the script, and I am glad to have him on board. It is based on a lot of true incidents; things people can relate to. This film will be completely away from what I’ve done before. Audiences will see a serious side of me.”
The film’s launch ceremony happened in Chennai and Gautham Karthik and producer Gnanavel Raja, were some of the guests who attended the event.
“It’s a detective thriller and the film will be very intense. Arvind Swami sir plays the role of a detective who is intelligent yet subtle. The rest of the cast and crew is yet to be confirmed. We’re planning to go on floors from June 6,” says Santhosh.
Produced by V Mathiyalagan of Etcetera Entertainment, the yet-to-be-titled film will have Imman handling music. Cinematographer Ballu and editor Prasanna GK are also part of the team.
