At this place in the early days Emperuman served as Varahamurthy as a penance of Asura Raja named Bali. In the Kalyana Theertha here, if one takes a bath in the month of Chithirai he is freed from sin.
Even if one thinks of Perumal from this place, he will attain moksha. Perumal has blessed that the dharma done in this temple will be fruitful in crores. In accordance with the request of the blessed sacrifice, the Lord is shown here in the temple as Varamurthy, placing Prati on his left thigh and Adisheshan, who is a couple with the left Thiruvadi, on Vasuki and the other Thiruvadi is shown in the Thirukolam.
Also he got the name Nitya Kalyana Perumal because he married 360 daughters of the sage and 360 women at a time every day. Therefore, it is the pride of this place that those who come here to worship with the problem of not getting married, come back as a married couple as soon as possible.
Asura Kulakalanallur Varagapuri, Sripuri, Nityakalyanapuri, this place is known as Thiru Idaendai because it has Emperuman Prati on its left side. This was later known as Thiruvidantha.
