The Amazon rainforest, beset by incessant attacks of largely human induced wildfires, now described as one of the biggest environmental crises of the decade, has been an alarming cause for global concern. The lungs of the planet, a mammoth repository of carbon, and an abundant provider of oxygen, acts as an enabler of the smooth functioning of the international ecosystem. In an effort to combat the assault on nature’s most vital force, a substantial number of deployed military troops, volunteers, and non-profit organizations have joined hands together to fight the ongoing effects of the devastating calamity. Artist AP. Shreethar, through his latest series of paintings, seeks to highlight the plight of humanity’s greatest warriors and pay tribute to their honourable courage, bravery, and perseverance at the face of this adversity.
