Archana Patnaik Appointed Tamil Nadu’s Chief Electoral Officer

Archana Patnaik has been appointed as the new Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Tamil Nadu. She takes over the role from Satyabrata Sahoo, who served in the position previously.

Patnaik, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2006 batch, has served in various administrative capacities within the state. Prior to her appointment as the CEO, she held the position of Principal Secretary for the state’s Revenue Department.

In her new role, Patnaik will oversee the conduct of elections in Tamil Nadu, including ensuring free, fair, and transparent processes. The Chief Electoral Officer is also responsible for the preparation of electoral rolls, managing the logistics of polling stations, and addressing any election-related issues within the state.
