On Monday evening, Apollo Hospitals said chief minister J Jayalalithaa is better, but remains on respiratory support and is advised to remain there for a few more days.
The “treatment plan, including appropriate antibiotics, respiratory support and other allied clinical measures are presently being continued to treat the infection,” the hospital said in a release.
The Chief Minister was “responding adequately” to the comprehensive treatment being given to her, and a team of doctors was collectively monitoring her treatment.
Meanwhile, former Hindu editor Malini Parthasarathy shared on Twitter that Jayalalithaa is out of danger and is responding to treatment.
“One happy news amid the gloom & doom: CM Jaya certainly recovering & out of danger as seen by a close associate who visited her at hospital,” she tweeted.
Meanwhile, DMDK leader Vijayakanth on Monday asked the state government to reveal Jayalalithaa’s actual health status.
After meeting AIADMK leaders O Panneerselvam and others at Apollo Hospital, Dalit party VCK’s leader Thol Thirumavalavan said Jayalalithaa is recovering.
Thirumavalavan said Jayalalithaa is being treated on the second floor of the hospital and no security restrictions have been placed, referring to complaints on the issue.
