Vijay Sethupathi’s production venture Merku Thodarchi Malai has been selected for Habitat Film Festival in Delhi.
It is to be noted that the film has already played at three Indian film festivals and recently had a very successful international premiere at the New York Indian Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi will be playing a politician in his next movie to be directed by Seenu Ramasamy, titled Maamanithan.
“If everything goes well, Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as a politician in the movie. However, it is yet to be known as to whose life he will be essaying on screen in this biopic,” sources said.
The project, which is expected to go on floors in two months’ time, will be bankrolled by music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Merku Thodarchi Malai is directed by debutant Lenin Bharathi. The film features newcomers in the lead and has music by ‘Isaignani’ Ilaiyaraaja.
